We hope this message finds you well!  I received some clarification and follow up from our great speaker, Rachel Grubb this week and as promised, wanted to share that with all of you.  I have attached the signed and dated Practice Act.

1.     I have provided an attachment of the final Practice Act changes that were signed by the governor.

2.     The Governor has extended Teleheath (as PTs fall under title 63) through April 30, 2022.  (This is good, however, we, the APTA Tennessee, are going to try and legislate more language to have an actual definition of Telehealth in the PT Practice ACT, however, the Licensing Board Attorney would like to make a policy on this decision, but please remember a policy made can be always be challenged)

3.     CEU clarification. Licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants should continue to obtain 30 hours of credit for the 24 months that precede their licensure renewal month. It has been stated that no more than 10 hours may be acquired online in the past and that still holds true today, because the Rules in this regard have not been promulgated to this date.  However, the rules in the future will do away with the 10 hours online and licensees will be able to get all 30 hours online.  It is understandable however during COVID-19 that in-person classes “or Live” courses may be limited. With this being said, if you are audited you would just need to send a letter directly to the Licensing Board staff requesting consideration during COVID-19 for your CEUs to be approved.  Remember that beginning July 1, 2020, it shall become mandatory for licensees to report proof of completion of their CEs to CE Broker.

4.      Renewal. https://cebroker.com/tn/plans

We look forward to 'seeing' you all again Tuesday, November 10th.  Keep a check on our Facebook Page and your email for meeting details and updates!
